Shrewsbury Town boss Steve Cotterill has spoken of the "warmth" of people from Carlisle ahead of tomorrow's FA Cup tie at Brunton Park.

And the manager of United's second round opponents says he will give the Blues and Keith Millen his full respect this weekend.

Carlisle are hoping to cause an upset against a team who sit 19th in League One.

Cotterill, whose squad includes ex-United strikers Ryan Bowman and Sam Cosgrove, has spoken about the challenge facing his side in Cumbria.

"It's a long way, that was my immediate reaction [to the draw]," he told the Shrews website.

"I've met a number of people from Carlisle over the years and they're very warm people.

"We are looking forward to going up there this weekend and we will try to keep our little bit of form going.

"We've had a good look at Carlisle now and there certainly won't be any surprises.

"We started that work this morning and this game is only similar to the last FA Cup game [at Stratford] in that they're not in League One.

"They're a very big club with great tradition. They will get our full respect going into the game that's for sure."

Cotterill says United are capable of varying their style of play.

He added:  "They can play a bit of both and have done that since Keith went in.

"At times, they play off the strikers and at times they play into midfield. They've done a bit of both in all of the games we've looked at."

Cotterill says he is leaving some injury issues "as late as possible" before naming his team, but added: "We've worked on enough things this week to prepare for the ifs."
