Keith Millen has given Tristan Abrahams a special reward for his matchwinning strike against Walsall - a dinner date with the Carlisle United boss himself!
Millen revealed that Abrahams had been given a voucher for a meal for two at Wetheral restaurant Fantails after his heroics against Walsall.
But the Blues manager said there was one condition - that he could also tag along...
Striker Abrahams earned United their first league win in 13 games with his late effort against the Saddlers at Brunton Park on Saturday.
Millen, speaking afterwards, said: "It’s funny, because someone I’ve met somebody recently that gave me a voucher for a restaurant, for a meal for two, for the player who scored the first goal.
"I said to the lads that whoever got that goal had a dinner for two – it’s at Fantails, which is a lovely restaurant – and a bottle of champagne.
"I did tell them that the downside of it is that I’m going with them!
"I’ve handed the voucher to Tris and I’ve asked him what time we’re meeting..."
Abrahams' fourth goal of the season helped United escape the League Two relegation zone.
Millen said all the players deserved to enjoy the 1-0 win before continuing the bid to improve United's position.
"The dressing room is obviously happy because they understand the pressure of where we are," he said.
"Even though I try to protect them from that, everybody knows how important picking up points is."
