Carlisle United's Gime Toure got off to a losing start as he made his loan debut for Aldershot - coming off second best to an ex-Blue.

Toure, who has joined the National League strugglers on a month's loan, came off the bench for Shots against Bromley.

But they went down to a 3-2 defeat against a side whose defence included the former United centre-half Byron Webster.

Toure was named among the subs by Aldershot boss Mark Molesley.

After going in 2-2 at the break, the hosts introduced Toure on 61 minutes as he replaced Mohamed Bettamer.

But minutes later Bromley got their winner through a Michael Cheek penalty after Scott Wagstaff had handled.

Defender Webster, who played for United in the 2019/20 season, then helped the fifth-placed away side see their victory through.

Toure could get another chance to impress when Aldershot, who are second bottom of non-league's top tier, face Weymouth on Tuesday.

Molesley spoke after the game of his appreciation for the Aldershot board's backing to "get reinforcements in" with the likes of Toure.

Elsewhere in the National League, former Blues defender Aaron Hayden scored his first goal for Wrexham as they won 3-0 at Barnet. Another former United centre-half in Shaun Brisley was also on the scoresheet.
