Carlisle United have confirmed details of their FA Youth Cup first round tie.

Mark Birch's young Blues will host Oldham under the lights at Brunton Park next Tuesday.

The October 26 game, which kicks off at 7pm, will see United's Under-18s launch their bid to progress in domestic youth football's top cup competition.

The Blues reached the third round last season.

It will be a chance for some promising young United players to impress, such as some who have been in the first-team squad like defenders Jack Ellis and Max Kilsby and keepers Scott Simons and Gabe Breeze.

Sam Fishburn could also feature, though the teenage striker was in the first-team squad this week and made his league debut as a sub against Newport.

The Latics tie comes three days after the clubs' first teams face each other in League Two action at Brunton Park.

United have confirmed that tickets will be available from 6pm on the night from the west side ticket office.

Prices are £3 for over-18s and £1 for under-18s.

Under-18 boss Birch, who has been assisting first-team caretaker duo Gavin Skelton and Eric Kinder since Chris Beech's sacking, said on the club website: "It's one for our players to look forward to. It's played on the main pitch, in front of fans, and with it being the FA Cup it's just like the senior competition, it has an edge to it."
