Chris Beech remained tight-lipped on the absences of Rod McDonald and Jordan Gibson from Carlisle United’s defeat to Forest Green.

Defender McDonald and attacking midfielder Gibson were both out of the 18-man squad at Brunton Park.

Head coach Beech said he hoped the pair would be fit for next Saturday’s trip to fellow strugglers Bristol Rovers.

But he declined to give details on the reasons for their omission.

“They were not available, hopefully they’ll be available next week,” he said.

“I don’t want to give too much detail away with it, I don’t want to tell everybody else what is and isn’t available next Saturday.

“We’ve got to make sure they’re back on that training pitch as fast as possible.”

The changes saw Jonathan Dinzeyi handed a full league debut while Brad Young made his first league start.

Morgan Feeney also came into the side along with Gime Toure.

United had Tristan Abrahams back from a foot injury as he came off the bench in the second half.

The head coach will have Manasse Mampala back at his disposal in Bristol after he served a one-match ban on Saturday.
