THE Cumberland Football Association have teamed up with train provider Network Rail to deliver safety messages aimed at young people throughout the summer.
It comes after the rail provider has noticed an increase in cases from young people running on the tracks to collect footballs that may have entered the railway lines.
On their Twitter page the Cumberland FA warned people of the risks and said that they would continue to warn their followers about the dangers of running onto the train tracks throughout the summer- saying 'everyone loses when you step on the track.'
In the message from Network Rail online, said : "Stepping on the track shatters lives.
"There are more dangers on the track than you think.
"Don't leave people around to pick up the pieces."
