TWO teenagers from Whitehaven will run a half marathon today, inspired by former Rugby League star Rob Burrow.

Preston Meloy, 12, and friend Ben Pierce, 14, were so moved last year watching the documentary about Burrow, who was diagnosed with MND that they decided to run a half marathon to raise money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association.

The boys will set off today finishing their task at Whitehaven Harbour at about 10.15am.

The pair have already raised more than £2,000 for the cause and hope to make some more after they finish the challenge.

Stars from all over the Rugby League world have sent messages of support to the pair, from St Helens' Kyle Amor and Leeds legend Jamie Jones-Buchanan.
