Two former Carlisle United players have signed for the club's Cumbrian rivals Barrow AFC.

Offrande Zanzala joined Mark Cooper’s side last night after a campaign which saw him score five league goals for United, with his hard-working and combative playstyle making him popular with supporters.

‘I am delighted, I can’t wait to get going at a club that’s got great ambitions,” the 24-year-old striker told Barrow’s club website.

“I am looking to push on with goals and helping the team.”

His arrival was followed today by the signing of goalkeeper Paul Farman, who made 45 appearances in all competitions for Chris Beech’s team last season, keeping 15 clean sheets in the process.

Both players had been offered new deals at Brunton Park but chose to move down the Cumbrian coast.
