Former Carlisle United frontman Hallam Hope is looking for a new club after being released by Swindon.

The attacker has been let go by the Robins following their relegation from League One.

Hope is one of 13 players to depart the County Ground as they prepare for life back in the fourth tier.

The ex-United man scored five goals in 36 appearances last season as Swindon finished second bottom.

Swindon paid a fee to sign 27-year-old Hope from Carlisle in January 2020, the forward going on to help them to League Two promotion under Richie Wellens.

But the Wiltshire outfit struggled under Wellens' successor John Sheridan, who recently quit the club as they slid towards the drop.

Sheridan's former Carlisle No2 Tommy Wright was in caretaker charge, assisted by ex-Blues striker Lee Peacock, for the closing games of the 2020/21 season.

Hope made 41 appearances in total for Swindon, scoring seven goals.

That followed a two-and-a-half year spell with Carlisle which brought 31 goals in 123 appearances.

The former Everton player also had a previous loan spell with United from Bury, scoring five in 25 games.

Another ex-United man is seeking a new club, meanwhile.

Goalkeeper Jack Bonham has left League One outfit Gillingham after turning down a new deal.

The keeper, who spent the 2017/18 campaign at Brunton Park, moves on among seven players departing Priestfield.

He was one of three Gills players to reject new terms, the Kent club said.

Bonham, whose team-mates at the club included Cumbrian midfielder Kyle Dempsey, made 49 appearances for Steve Evans' side in 2020/21.

He spent the last two seasons in Kent after a move from Bristol Rovers.

The 27-year-old's loan stint with Carlisle from Watford brought 49 appearances during Keith Curle's last season in charge.
