Former Carlisle United defender Tom Parkes is looking for a new club after being released by Exeter.
The Blues' League Two rivals included Parkes on a list of five players who are being let go after the end of the 2020/21 season.
It ends a two-year spell in Devon for Parkes after his Carlisle departure in 2019.
Exeter are the latest fourth-tier side to issue their retained and released list, with United yet to confirm their own end-of-season decisions.
Parkes, 29, was joined at the Grecians exit door by Nicky Ajose, Lewis Ward, Jonny Maxted and Alex Fisher.
He made 73 appearances for Matt Taylor's side, his three goals including a winning goal against Carlisle at St James' Park last season.
Manager Taylor told his club's website the centre-half had "struggled" during the first Covid lockdown and had returned out of shape, rendering him "unselectable" for last season's play-offs and the start of this season.
He said Parkes had worked hard since then to return to availabilty but it had been an "uphill battle" for the ex-Bristol Rovers man, with Alex Hartridge now preferred in defence.
Exeter finished in ninth position, three points outside the play-offs.
Parkes played 89 times for the Cumbrians from 2017-19.
