WITH just eight games left of the season, Carlisle have dragged themselves back to within touching distance of a play-off spot.
United are just three points behind seventh placed Newport County, with both sides having played the same number of games.
But the Blues' boss Chris Beech is refusing to get carried away.
Speaking after victory over Scunthorpe, he said: "There's eight games. Lets go and whack them as best we can, give our best account in them, make maybe a couple of changes if we need to, look at the opponents.
"I'm really pleased that we're managing to again get the phyisical states that I've been talking about, we're back there.
"Hopefully we can keep consistent, keep focused, embrace it. That's what we've got to do, go for it and enjoy it.
" Our home form is still the best in the league and what we’ve got to do is make sure we don’t get too high or too low, all we can do is carry on.
“We know what we need in terms of points, so let’s see how we go with it. We can’t guarantee anything other than hard work and honesty.
“I want the supporters to enjoy the situation and I want to see how we can get on in the remaining eight games.
“That will look after us, and if we get something out of something, well done. That’s all I can ask of the lads.”
