Carlisle United slipped to a 3-2 defeat to Tranmere at a rainswept Brunton Park last night.

Here's what some of the Blues faithful who followed the action on iFollow and in other ways made of things.

Much better first half performance than against Harrogate and Forest Green and I would say sharper than they were against Salford, poor defending with all three goals I feel , however I did feel we lacked any threat when going forward in much of the second half. (@JoshuaK19969605)

A much better performance. More like pre shutdown. Confident of better to come on the run in. Tranmere are no mugs though. Beech not quite over the Hill yet ;-) (@scholes_peter)

I feel there's plenty of good sides who don't have the fixture pile up that we do that will struggle against Tranmere. They're a good side. Hopefully back to business as usual on Saturday and the lads will get their belief back. On our day we can beat anyone. Just wasn't our day. (@cufcmike)

Poor decision making cost us. A game that could have swung our way but a strong Tranmere pounced on our errors & manage everything better. Gutting to lose, 1pt would have been fair but I feel we’re just a good result or two away from getting ourselves going. Long way to go yet. (@fish_blues)

Best team we’ve played this season I think and we’re improving with every game since the lay off everything will click soon and we’ll be back to our pre covid best also think the social media meltdown to the defeat was a bit uncalled for (@NavyDave94)

Really poor IMO lack leadership no one to take the game by the scruff of the neck. Hayden and Guy, 2 most influential players prior to the calloffs look a shadow of themselves. No focal point up front. Play like that we won’t make the playoffs. Hard to see with the start we had. (@bazovcarlisle)

We went toe-to-toe with a side of equal quality. Tranmere had the advantage of being in form and up to speed. The Blues showed glimpses of their pre Covid/weather interupted season. I don't think it's time to panic. Still optimistic of automatic promotion (...or better) (@tomtuc001)

Overall a good solid performance by everyone that wasn’t a CB, the changes we made lacked an impact which is a shame but game could have went either way. Saturday is a must win now (@Luke_Graham_)

Didn’t think we were that bad last night going forward. Age old problem tho this season, not putting teams to bed...Barrow at home (tho we scraped a win) Grimsby away, Bolton at home all spring to mind. Make hard work of wins or get done like last night. On to Saturday!! (@ScottBeeby1)

Thought we played well. Undone by a few stupid defensive mistakes. (@Tommo22753)

Really good match. Improving game by game & felt more like the side before all the PPs. Thought they were unfortunate not to get a point. Tranmere just had that extra bit of quality in Vaughan, Feeney, Woolery & Spearing. Feels like things are going in the right direction again. (@BackoSkiddaw)

Played our part in a good game. Two decent sides. Needed to made the 2nd half pressure count & I knew what was coming when we didn't. Taking a centre back off with 10 mins to go to replace him with someone who's not played in months was utterly baffling. And WRONG, in my opinion. (@1StevieKilner)

I thought we were worth a draw, and with a bit of luck we could have won with a shot cleared off the line and a certain goal blocked by a defender, had those gone in it is a different game. Tranmere are a good team and will be there or thereabouts at the end of the season. (@peterjo1525330)

Draw would have been fairer, Charters and Armer hardly getting any game time which is strange, concerns now defensively which a real worry too (@keithelliott94)

Gutted. Probably should’ve won 2-1. Bennett’s fault for the first two goals (@xx_glenny)

All I know is my self-imposed ban on watching via iFollow is now over after 3 defeats in 4! I’ll be back watching on Saturday and 3 points will be incoming (@Halpinforpope)

Tranmere are a decent team and know how to influence the game/ref, I’m reserving judgment until after the Oldham game, no excuses now we need a very different result & performance than last night. Utb’s (@BrendanRogers69)

A lot of disappointed #cufc fans tonight. An enjoyable watch, and more like our pre January form, unfortunately mistakes happened and they scored more than us. (@LindaNi121202)

Disappointed with the result but trying to be positive. We looked sharper, we dominated periods of the game, we play Oldham on Saturday, and we're still only 7 points off 3rd with 3 games in hand. Just need to try and put a run together. (@Lucid_Ging)

Disappointing (@Alan_Matthews)
