Carlisle United's 2-0 win at Walsall took them to the top of League Two yesterday - to the delight of their supporters.

Here's what some of the Blues faithful made of the table-topping victory - and their views on what they need to do to stay there.

"Excellent win against a team in decent enough form. Simply we’ve got to keep Bennett and I also hope we keep Kayode as well. I’d still like to see a couple more additions - RB and forward for me" (@mattselliott)

"Just the better team. Interesting to hear the opposition comms talking about how often Armer and Hayden got in their box" (@parkinsonross)

"Never really troubled. Riley and Charters superb in midfield, never stopped running, with composure on the ball to go with it. Every player knows there roles, doesn't matter if its someone out of position, or a debut, you know you're going to get 100%. We'll take some stopping" (@RyCUFC)

"Rhys Bennett, no further comments" (@epouvantail)

"Solid away performance. All played well. We need to keep this squad together and add a little." (@LEEROTHERHAM)

"Imo - David Holdsworth should be given a lot of credit for where we are today"(@barrynicholson1)

"Brilliant away performance, a good mix of youth and experience mixed with pace and poise when we need it. Excellent build up to both goals, unlucky not to score more. Keep this squad together and add wisely in January and we can rise to the challenge ahead. #goodvibrations #cufc" (@cumbrianbluess)

"Beech deserves praise for turning us around, hopefully he can take us onwards and upwards" (@gmansmile)

"Very good first half never had to get out of first gear second half! A right back and another striker please and if everyone manages to stay fit we’ll go up!!" (@dixon221087)

"Most important we need to keep this team together add 2 or 3 players in January .we can’t slip up like we have earlier in the season. I am sure Beech will have players he wants it’s up to Holdsworth to back him ..." (@Alistairwest6)

"Comfortable win,Charters excellent and great to see!!!also notable that unlike previous seasons we have injuries but players coming in are doing a great job with Armer looking a good young player also...learn from previous seasons...don’t sell players and must keep Bennett, class." (@reaypa)

"Bennett and JJ to sign on for rest of campaign, full back in as cover at RB, if the funds allow then another CF please." (@Halpinforpope)

"Solid team performance. Ground it out when required. They had no real chances. We need to keep Bennett and Kayode, add 2 or 3 tops and we will go up" (@MartinScarboro4)

"Great 3 points, we didn't really look, like we have done of late, which is great. Thats a sign of champions. Charters was really good, Armer is improving with every game. Hopefully we have a replacement to Kayode lined up as I fear he will go up a league in the next window" (@Stuart47912160)

"We just seem to really strangle teams in midfield. The three just win everything back all the time & Walsall never got a foothold in the first half. A well taken goal from the ever improving Patrick was the least we deserved. However, I did feel we lacked quality in the 2nd half" (@JRBulman)

"To keep hold of Bennett, a goal scoring focal point, maybe 1 or 2 loans to add numbers. But in all honesty, it looks fine as it is" (@CabezaJake)

"Today’s result was fully deserved. The press dominated Walsall. It was nice to nullify them after the second goal. I’d say based on performances, being top of the league is no more than Carlisle deserve. Not sure anything needs to happen in the window."(@f_analytics)

"Strong and solid performance from the whole team, it's a joy to watch Carlisle atm. Hoping @RhysBeno91 signs an extended contract and JJ stays with us. Main thing is to keep this team together and I feel just bring in a RB and possibly a CF if the money's there" (@tracy_sturgess)
