Carlisle United's director of football David Holdsworth has been hit with a Football Association disciplinary charge.
It relates to post-match scenes after the Blues' FA Cup Second Round defeat to Doncaster on Sunday.
Holdsworth is accused of making insulting and/or abusive comments to one of the match officials following United's 2-1 defeat.
In a statement today, the FA said: "Carlisle United FC’s Director of Football, David Holdsworth, has been charged with a breach of FA Rule E3 following their Emirates FA Cup fixture against Doncaster Rovers FC on Sunday 29 November 2020.
"It is alleged that he used abusive and/or insulting words towards a match official at the completion of the fixture and he has until Monday 7 December 2020 to provide a response."
The referee for Sunday's tie was Scott Oldham, his assistants Chris Isherwood and Paul Newhouse and the fourth official David McNamara.
United have declined to comment while the situation is ongoing.
