Carlisle United's free-scoring midfielder Jon Mellish has been shortlisted for an award - and fans can help him win it.

Mellish, who has hit 12 goals this season, is nominated for the GiveMeSport's Fans' Player of the Month Award for League Two in November.

Mellish is on a six-man shortlist which also includes Exeter's Carlisle-born striker Ryan Bowman.

Others in the running are Tranmere keeper Scott Davies, Bolton defender Ricardo Santos, Leyton Orient striker Danny Johnson and Colchester frontman Jevani Brown.

Mellish's citation reads: "After a relatively quiet first season at Carlisle, Mellish has looked a different animal for the Blues in 2020/21.

"The midfielder has been ever-present in the starting XI and proven his quality both defensively and in possession.

"Mellish won 11 tackles and found the net three times for Carlisle in November, helping them climb the League Two table."

Voting is open now and runs until 9am tomorrow.
