If you value your local club, now is perhaps a good time to consider joining CUOSC.

The coronavirus pandemic means the future of football in England is clouded in uncertainty.

Talks involving the Premier League are under way that could lead to the restructuring of all four divisions.

Meanwhile, at Brunton Park it is worrying times as our main sponsor seems on the verge of going into administration.

No-one is sure how all this will end but one thing is certain - every fan will have something to say. However, rather than being a lone voice why not be heard as part of a supporters’ organisation?

CUOSC are still waiting for more clarification on how the situation at Edinburgh Woollen Mill will affect life at Brunton Park. It may have no impact at all but it seems likely that any new announcements will come from the administrators themselves.

While on a national front we need to know a lot more detail about the full implications of ‘Project Big Picture’ which could shake the game in England to its roots.

CUOSC are full members of the Football Supporters Association, a democratic representative body for supporters in England and Wales. They have combined individual and affiliate/associate membership of over 500,000.

In recent weeks the FSA, supported by CUOSC, have welcomed the government’s commitment to a ‘fan-led review of the governance of football,’ something that seems even more relevant and urgent now.

Supporters organisations have a real battle on their hands to protect the interests of fans throughout the football pyramid – that’s why we need your help.

CUOSC are still focused on our ‘Carlisle REUnited’ campaign where we are endeavouring to re-connect and re-energise fans and at the same time raise funds.

Our Face in the Crowd initiative has gone down well and taken the total of the fund to nearly £11,000. For more information go to www.faceinthecrowd.store

So far all of the fund has been donated by individual supporters. However, in the last week we have written to local businesses seeking their support. We are not necessarily looking for money but asking them to spread the word and promote the club among their employees.

After all, if recent evidence is anything to go by manager Chris Beech is building a team to be proud of. The win at Port Vale at the weekend was just what the doctor ordered to cheer Blues fans up in these difficult times.
