Former Carlisle United defender Byron Webster has dropped into non-league after his Blues departure.

The centre-half has signed for National League side Bromley.

The 33-year-old had been offered new terms by the Cumbrians but rejected the chance to stay with United.

Bromley manager Neil Smith said: “He [Webster] has a fantastic reputation at Millwall and is a real leader of men.

“It’s another experienced league player who’s coming in to help develop my young players and hopefully being a leader in the changing room and on the pitch to kick us on in the league.”

Bromley finished 13th in the curtailed National League in 2019/20.
