Cumbrian Dean Henderson’s future at Manchester United is the subject of fresh speculation amid further links with their Premier League rivals Chelsea.
The Whitehaven-born goalkeeper impressed during his latest loan spell with Sheffield United and his prospects of taking the first-team slot at Old Trafford are now being weighed up.
According to The Sun, Chelsea are waiting if former Carlisle United academy player Henderson is not promoted in place of David De Gea in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team.
The London outfit are expected to be in the market for a keeper after a string of errors by Kepa Arrizabalaga - while De Gea’s Man Utd form has also come under scrutiny.
Henderson, 23, was named young player of the year at Bramall Lane and further reports suggest Man Utd want to tie him to a new contract.
