The Eden Valley Cricket League was back in action with some interesting games over the weekend.

In Division Two Keswick CC's second XI took on Caldbeck's second XI in bright sunshine.

It was a great game, with some good bowling by Caldbeck to restrict Keswick's scoring on a pitch that was drying in the warm sunshine.

But a good late partnership of 37 from Sam Crowther and Finn Turnbull left the home side with 155-7 off 36 overs.

The pick of the bowlers saw Richard Woods finish with two wickets while Craig Pattinson added a further three.

In response, Caldbeck started slowly as they set off in chase of the Keswick total.

They then faced the lethal bowling of young Dan Craghill who took an exceptional 4-19 to put Keswick on the front foot.

With Crowther picking off another three batsmen, for the loss of just 22 runs, Keswick bowled out Caldbeck for 87 in 29 overs, with Richard Woods putting up the biggest fight for Caldbeck, top scoring with 17.

That left Keswick to celebrate the win.
