Chris Beech’s first fans’ forum at Carlisle United has been postponed.

The head coach, plus assistant Gavin Skelton and director of football David Holdsworth, had been due to face questions from supporters next week.

But the event has been shelved after EFL clubs suspended football due to the coronavirus.

The measures, from the league, Premier League and Football Association, recommended the cancellation of meetings with fans as well as commercial activity and player appearances.

Organisers CUSG (Carlisle United Supporters' Groups) said they would look to reschedule the event in the future.

In an email to ticket-holders for the event, they said: "Due to the recent news regarding the suspension of all EFL activity, we are unfortunately letting you know that the CUFC Head Coach Forum brought to you by CUSG has been cancelled.

"A new event will be created and published when safe to re-arrange."

Tickets for the event were free, having been booked through the Eventbrite system.

It was due to be the first such event attended by Beech since his appointment last November, and held in Foxy's Restaurant.
