Workington Town’s points scoring machine Carl Forber has been named alongside some other familiar faces in the RFL’s Betfred League One team of the decade.

Forber, who became Town’s all-time top points-scorer this season, features on the bench of the team released by the RFL.

And another star to wear the blue and white of Workington, blockbusting forward Fuifui Moimoi, is also there at prop.

His front-row partner in the team is former Whitehaven coach and player Carl Forster, giving the west Cumbrian teams a high presence.

Another ex-Haven star in Lewis Palfrey is also in at half-back and Paul Crook who was at the Recreation Ground back in 2017 is named too.

Forber has just signed a new deal to keep him at Derwent Park where he is a firm fans’ favourite.

The prolific scorer broke Iain MacCorquodale’s record of 1,800 points for Town after nearly 40 years last season and sits on a staggering 1,813 points since his arrival at Workington in 2007.

Town chairman Les Smallwood was pleased with his side’s double in the team but admitted there could have been more.

He said: “Congratulations to both Fui and Carl who just get better as time goes on. Their inclusion is well deserved.

“Even more Town players could have been included as we’ve had some crackers in the last decade.”
