Championship club Batley Bulldogs have signed former England rugby league hooker Shaun Lunt.
The Bulldogs say they beat off competition from a host of clubs to land the signature of 32-year-old Cockermouth-born Lunt, who was capped against Australia in the 2010 Four Nations Series down under.
Lunt, who made 74 appearances for Workington Town in a three-year period, ended the 2019 season on loan from Hull KR at Leeds, and was a member of the Rhinos’ 2012 Grand Final-winning team during a loan spell from Huddersfield.
Batley chief executive Paul Harrison said: “This is a massive signing for the club.
“To have a player with this level of experience is invaluable.”
