Nine yachts collected awards at the annual Whitehaven Sailing and Boating Association presentation night and charity evening.

Last weekend the club held it’s annual charity evening combined with the presentation of trophies won over the 2019 sailing season.

This season was one of the closest, most competitive years ever.

The games, auctions, raffles and sales of RNLI endorsed merchandise raised a grand total of £696.90 on the evening which will be presented to the local lifeboat station in the spring.

The winners this year were: Kon Tiki lifted the Stobbart Cup, the Friendship Race Tankard and was also Club Champion; Erytheia won the Prologue Trophy and Spring Cup; 7th Heaven won the Romar Trophy, Midsummer Cup and Maiden Marine Trophy; SV Percy won the Earl Street Trophy and Irish Sea Challenge; Mimic won the Presidents Cup; Wild Theme the Galemire Trophy; Phoenix the Shepley Trophy; Tranquility the Marina Cup and Crackerjack the Jack Dickson Salver.
