Matt Jansen will this weekend return to the city where it all started to sign copies of his autobiography.
The Cumbrian former Premier League star, who began his career with Carlisle United, will meet fans in Waterstones, in Carlisle city centre, on Saturday.
Former Blackburn hero Jansen, 42, recently released his book which lifts the lid on the moped accident in 2002 which derailed his career, and the psychological struggles he endured.
The accident came after the striker, from Wetheral, narrowly missed out on the England World Cup squad. He wrote his book - entitled What Was, What Is and What Might Have Been - with the News & Star’s Jon Colman. It is published by Polaris.
Jansen will be in Waterstones from 11am until about 2pm.
