Rhys Graham admits he was delighted to get on the scoresheet in Carlisle Futsal Club’s win over Bolton Futsal Club.

Having missed Carlisle’s opening-day 10-3 success against Leeds Super Eagles, Graham returned for Al Tindall's team on Sunday and gave Carlisle the lead.

Adam Cox then extended the away team’s advantage, only for Thomas Bateman to reduce the deficit to 2-1 before the half-time interval at the Trafford Centre.

But Carlisle sealed their second successive National Futsal League’s Championship North victory after the restart when Jack Senior found the net.

On his goal, Graham, who was part England’s Under-19s’ North Regional Talent Centre in 2015, said: “It was a massive confidence boost for me.

“It was my first competitive game back. It’s always good to get on the scoresheet and to help the side out.

"I, personally, believe that we started the game very strongly, we had five or six clear-cut chances, and it’s always good for me to put one of those away.”

Captain Tom Lucock added to the club website: “I thought that we played well in the first half, controlled the game well and should have been 6-0 or 7-0 up at half-time.

"Rhys started the scoring off well and we controlled it [the match] well after that.”

Next up for Carlisle is a long trip to Hull to face East Riding Futsal Club on Sunday, November 10.

East Riding beat Leeds 11-5 at the weekend.
