Workington Golf Club is celebrating another successful year for its ladies’ section.
The Silver B team of Chris Reed, Irene Todhunter, Thena Lyngaas, Ann Newberry, Carol Wilson, Chris Clarke, Gill Jones and Doris Caldicott won their division of the Cumbria Ladies Golf Scratch League as they were only beaten once throughout the season in a remarkable effort.
Reed also won the Silver Salva for the best individual score in the division, winning all of her matches.
The Cecil Leitch team of Dot Crelling, Madeline Harrison, Val Renkin, Barbara Atkinson, Dorothy Hodgson, Ann Garner, Yvonne Salmon and Erica Russell were successful in winning the Division One Bronze League Trophy.
Madeline Harrison had a surprise on the night when she was awarded the silver salver for the most winning points scored.
Unfortunately, the ladies were pipped by Kendal Ladies, missing out by half a point, otherwise they would have won the main Cecil Leitch League Trophy.
