FORMER Cleator Cricket Club player Jordan Clark, and team-mate Conor McKerr have extended their Surrey contracts until the end of the 2022 domestic season.

The Whitehaven-born all-rounder, who joined from Lancashire at the end of the 2018 season, enjoyed a strong first year at The Kia Oval playing in 27 matches across all formats.

Clark’s 590 runs included a half-century in each format while the stand out spell of his 30 wickets was a five-wicket haul in the Specsavers County Championship match against Yorkshire at Scarborough.

After impressing with top order wickets in the Champion County match in Dubai, McKerr featured regularly throughout April and May before his season was curtailed through injury.

He briefly returned later in the summer but heel and hip struggles affected his impact on the 2019 campaign though he still managed 15 wickets in 11 first-team appearances.

At 29 and 21 respectively, both players have committed the next three seasons of their careers.
