Workington Reds boss Danny Grainger has named himself in the starting line-up for tonight's Integro League Cup clash with Kendal Town.

This will be the first competitive game Grainger has played in Reds colours and he has put together a changed side for the first round game.

Lewis Casson steps into the Workington goal while 16-year-olds Aidan Howarth and Harry Atkinson are also named in the starting XI.

Luke Ivison, normally the skipper of the under-18 side, who will play Penrith in the FA Youth Cup on Thursday, will wear the captain's armband.

But there is a more experienced bench, if required, with Dav Symington, Brad Hubbold, Sam Smith, Dan Wordsworth and Scott Allison.

Kendal have also fielded a much-changed side as they have looked to the youth to give more players a chance to shine.

Only Thomas Fagan and Jackson Hulme remain in the starting XI from the one who played Reds last Tuesday in the league.

Reds: Casson, Hebson, Rowntree, Grainger, Howarth, Atkinson, Clarke, Maguire, Bowman, Ivison, Waterston. Subs: Symington, Hubbold, Smith, Wordsworth, Allison.

Kendal: O'Rourke, Danvers, Holliday, Bateson, Gudgeon, Parr, Ashton, Fagan, Fitzsimons, Hulme, Hodgson. Subs: Green, Birkett, Brown, Dickson, Wainwright.
