Grant Holt will link up with three former Carlisle United stars to help support Harraby Catholic Club’s football teams.

Former Premier League hitman Holt, from Harraby, will be joined by Mark “Skip” Boyd, Chris Lumsdon and Billy Rafferty for the event at the Harraby Catholic Club on October 4.

"It [the event] is just to help us financially for the season," said Charmaine Lakin who is involved in junior football at Harraby.

"We have 14 teams that we are trying to fund. People don’t realise how much effort it takes to run football teams, there is so much that needs to be paid for.

"So, we would like to raise some money to put into the club."

Hosted by Ian Milburn, of IM Events, Lakin stressed it will be open to all ages, with tickets costing £15.

She said: “We are hoping kids come in and are inspired by them. We are trying to get 150 through the door in total.”

Having started at Harraby, Holt enjoyed a distinguished career and earned cult hero status at Norwich after leading the club from League One to the Premier League.

Meanwhile, Lumsdon earned back-to-back promotions with Carlisle in 2005 and 2006, Boyd also plied his trade at Brunton Park before joining Gretna, while Rafferty starred for United in the 1970s.
