Hallam Hope will have his injury further assessed tomorrow with manager Steven Pressley admitting the striker is a doubt for Carlisle’s next game.

The forward missed the opener against Crawley after picking up a hamstring problem in pre-season.

Pressley said the problem appears more complicated than United had originally hoped with last season’s top goalscorer.

The Blues boss said: “He’s a doubt [for the trip to Swindon].

“It seems not so much the injury, because we think that’s fine, but we think it could be some form of nerve problem that is causing a little bit of discomfort in his hamstring.

“He’s going to have to go and see somebody on Monday about that. The actual tear is ok, but the concern is the nerves in the back.”

Pressley insisted the injury was the only reason for Hope’s absence on Saturday and that he was not aware of any further transfer developments regarding the striker.

The 25-year-old had been linked with Blackpool last month with League Two clubs also having shown interest.
