Martial arts instructors, Jason Fisher and Adrian Punt have spent time with a master to pass the knowledge on to their own students.
The duo take part in Aikido seminars three times a year with some of martial arts' best practitioners. This time it was Francois Chidiac, a sixth dan and leader of the Lebanese Aikido Federation.
“He is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to martial arts,” said Fisher. The three day course started in the Leicestershire dojo and concluded in King Lynn, Norfolk
Fisher said that one of the main take aways from the technical schooling was “to get such a good result from doing very little".
And they will soon train with eighth dan Philippe Voarino.
Fisher added: “He is one of the last handful in the world who was trained by Saito Sensei,” one of the martial arts’ originals having trained under its founding father, Morihei Ueshiba.
The Aikido class is held at the Old Gym, St Bees School from 6.30 to 8.30pm on Thursday nights.
