Peter Grant is the latest of Carlisle United’s released players to get fixed up with another club.

The centre-half has returned to Scotland to sign for Morton.

Grant had been part of a summer clear-out at Brunton Park after making just four Blues appearances.

The 25-year-old has signed a one-year deal at Cappielow and joins ex-United youngster Cameron Salkeld in David Hopkin’s squad.

Two other former Blues men today secured moves, with winger David Amoo becoming the latest ex-Carlisle face at Port Vale.

He has left Cambridge to join the Valiants, who earlier this summer signed strikers Richie Bennett and Mark Cullen. Midfielder Luke Joyce is also in the Vale Park ranks.

Former United loanee Jack Stacey, meanwhile, has completed a rise to the Premier League after leaving Luton for Bournemouth.

The 23-year-old, who played for the Blues in the 2015/16 campaign, has joined for an undisclosed fee believed to be worth about £4m, and has signed a four-year deal.
