Released Carlisle United midfielder George Glendon has headed to the Netherlands in a bid to kick-start his career.
The 24-year-old played and scored as a trialist for second-tier side Roda JC Kerkrade in a friendly against WDZ.
Ex-Man City and Fleetwood man Glendon was among a host of players let go by Carlisle at the end of last season. He made 19 Blues appearances.
Former United favourite Jason Kennedy, meanwhile, did his bid for a Hartlepool contract no harm by scoring in their friendly on Saturday.
He netted the Monkey Hangers’ second goal in a 6-0 win against Shildon.
Kennedy, 32, has been training with Pools since the start of pre-season after his departure from Brunton Park.
Manager Craig Hignett said in the Hartlepool Mail: “Jason is obviously a vastly experienced player who knows what he’s doing and you can see that."
Former Blues loanee Callum O’Hare has been called into first-team training at Aston Villa, according to BirminghamLive.
Boss Dean Smith is set to run the role over the midfielder before deciding on a possible loan move in 2019/20.
Blues boss Steven Pressley has said a return to Carlisle for O’Hare in the new season is unlikely.
