Forward Scott McLean has become the latest to link up with Annan Athletic, agreeing a deal to join Peter Murphy's Black and Golds for the 2019/20 season.

The 21-year-old started his career with Kilmarnock's youth team as a 15-year-old and went on to make his professional debut with the club in a 2-2 draw with Celtic.

At 19, McLean was released and, after a few trials south of the border, he signed with Albion Rovers in Scottish League One.

Last season, McLean signed for Queen's Park and made his Spiders debut at Galabank last August, before he yesterday joined Annan.

Boss Murphy told the Galabankies' website: "Scott is an excellent talent who I was interested in before last season.

"Scott brings goals from midfield and can play in numerous positions across the frontline, giving us a variety of options in games to penetrate teams.

"He has a lot to prove and wants to play in higher divisions, so has come to Annan to do that which is a testament to the boy's and club's ambitions."
