Two former Annan Athletic players struck for Clyde to earn them promotion to Scottish League One and consign the Galabankies to another season in the SPFL's bottom tier.

In the first leg on Tuesday, Chris Johnston had given Peter Murphy's Annan the advantage but Martin McNiff levelled the tie on the hour mark at the Broadwood Stadium.

Then, four minutes from time, a controversial penalty was slotted home by Ally Love after former Carlisle United defender Steven Swinglehurst had been adjudged to have pushed 27-year-old Love in the penalty box.

There was still time for more late drama as late substitute Tommy Muir headed over former Annan goalkeeper Blair Currie's crossbar, but Danny Lennon's team held on to seal promotion.

It means the Galabankies' wait for a first SPFL [Scottish Professional Football League] promotion goes on.
