Steven Pressley hopes tributes to “inspirational character” Ivor Broadis can provide Carlisle United’s players with motivation ahead of their match against Lincoln.

Before the Blues’ first home game since the death of Broadis against Lincoln today, a minute’s silence will be held.

United boss Pressley said: “He was a very inspirational character.

“I think he was a player-manager and I think he sold himself to Sunderland. He was a really well thought of person, he came back and I think he became a Journalist, reporting on the club.

“It’s an amazing story.

“A real Carlisle man with great history and connection with the club. He’s a fantastic person.

“If he can’t give us inspiration, then I don’t think anybody can.”
