Lincoln manager Danny Cowley insists his team “won’t be coming off it” despite having sealed promotion, ahead of their trip to Carlisle United.

The Imps, unbeaten in 19, are 10 points clear at the top and a win in Cumbria on Friday would see them secure the League Two title.

Both being crowned as champions and finishing with a tally of 92 points, which would mean taking eight points from their final four fixtures, are Lincoln’s two new targets after promotion.

“We’ve been top all season. The objective has always been promotion but we knew that, if we achieved promotion, we’d want to re-define the objectives and win the league,” Cowley, whose brother Nicky is his assistant, told Lincolnshire Live.

“We want to win the league and stay unbeaten. We’ve chased 92 points, which would be two points a game. We’ve always looked at the games in pairs and we wanted four points from every pair. We want to win it, we want to stay unbeaten and we want to get to 92 points.

"So, I can promise everyone that we won’t be coming off it. It will be head down, foot on the gas and keep going.”
