Jimmy Glass admits he is looking forward to reliving a special moment with scores of Carlisle United fans tonight.

The goalscoring goalkeeper will be back at Brunton Park to celebrate the 20th anniversary of his famous goal.

Glass will be joined by former team-mates such as David Brightwell and Graham Anthony at ‘An Evening with Jimmy Glass and friends’ at Foxy’s Restaurant.

As well as attending the sell-out event, which is hosted by BBC Radio Cumbria’s Mike Zeller and organised by Carlisle United Supporters’ Groups, Glass will also be filmed by Sky Sports for a documentary about his goal against Plymouth on May 8, 1999 which kept United in the Football League.

Glass, who now works as a player liaison officer for AFC Bournemouth, will also speak about his eventful life after football.

He said he will enjoy being back at the place where one of football’s most remarkable goals was scored.

“It’s the realisation it meant so much to people,” Glass said.

“For me, that’s enough. The fact it’s still talked about and that people loved it.”
