Leon Pryce believes there is still room for improvement in his Workington Town side despite their stunning opening-day win against Oldham.

Town face their first home fixture of the season on Sunday when North Wales Crusaders visit Derwent Park (3pm kick off) and head coach Pryce is expecting his team to show more of what they are capable of.

He said: “We were happy to get away with the two points but I feel that we can play better.

“Obviously on the first game of the season you’re never going to be playing your best rugby but I do expect to see them improve.”

And although North Wales have not been as highly-rated as the Roughyeds, Pryce thinks it will be a tough afternoon for his players.

“They were very difficult to beat in both games last year,” he said.

“They’ve got good players and coaches and some experience in there.

“Really it is about what we do.”

Pryce said he has virtually a full squad available for Sunday, with Ryan Fieldhouse set to miss out due to long-term injury and Fuifui Moimoi back at the club but still serving a suspension for his sending off in the play-off final.

n Town have confirmed their Challenge Cup third-round tie with National Conference League side Siddal ARLFC will be played at Derwent Park on Sunday, March 10 (3pm kick off).
