Waverley and Sun Inn clashed in a nine-goal thriller in the Premier League Divisional Cup Group B clash at the weekend.

In the end Sun Inn just had the edge, winning the game 5-4 with braces from Dan Pearson and Andrew Trestianu and a further goal from Richard Hudson.

After a brilliant effort Waverley and specifically Antony Zajac were unlucky to be on the losing side as he recorded a hat-trick in the game, with Kieran Messenger also finding the back of the net.

In the Division One Divisional Cup Group B honours went to Red House as they inflicted a 3-1 scoreline on Workington Reds Juniors, whose lone goal came from Leo Holliday.

Jordan Ferguson picked up two goals for Red House with Gary O'Driscoll completing the scoring.

Going back to the Workington Sunday League and in division one Maryport United put six goals past Sun Athletic, who only managed one from Stephen Wilson in reply.

Grant Baker and Brandon Birk both bagged braces for the Maryport outfit and Max Litt and Thomas Husband also got on the scoresheet.

Two matches also went ahead at the weekend in the Cumberland Sunday County Cup while two others were postponed.

Maryport Labour Club progressed in their tie with FC Cosmos, winning the game convincingly 7-1 with Gavin Graham to the fore with four goals.

Jack Pear, Cameron Carter and Ethan Costin also had a say in the victory.

However, Seaton Royal Oak's journey came to an end when they lost out 5-3 at the home of Mirehouse. Carl Denver, Ben Powell and Lester Wilkinson all scored for the Seaton side.
