Border City ABC pair Jack Turnbull and Jordan Ryan will top the bill at the club’s home show this weekend as they come up against an England Select squad.

Taking place at Richard Rose Morton Academy on Saturday, Ryan, from Cleator Moor, will take on Lewis Cocksey from Jimmy Egan’s Boxing Academy.

Turnbull, a two-time North West champion and a national junior finalist, will make his return from an injury lay-off when he faces Jack Edge, also of Jimmy Egan’s Boxing Academy.

Those will be just two of the 17 bouts taking place with fighters coming from all over the country for the event.

Coach Ian Archibald said: “We hope that people get down and support these boxers, who choose to train hard four nights a week, and will now be looking to showcase their skills.”

With the boxing action set to start at 2.30pm, tickets cost £12 for adults and £6 for Under-16s with fans able to pay for entry on the door.

Call Paul Jefferson on 07719 740225 for tickets or for more information.

It will be the first of a trio of shows with another event scheduled at the Crown and Mitre Hotel exactly one month later.

That will be followed by a third show in May.
