Barrow Raiders are ahead at half time, edging out Cumbrian rivals Whitehaven 18-4.
It was a tense opening for both sides but the deadlock was broken when Wartovo Puara sent Jordan Walne crashing over for the Raiders, with Jamie Dallimore converting.
An error from the restart by the hosts let Haven back into the game though as new signing Sam Forrester scored for Haven, but Jordan Burns missed the conversion.
And that was to be the final score of the half for the visitors as Barrow came back with two more to pull ahead.
Lewis Charnock kicked through and dotted down to score on the last tackle, along with converting.
Then, another grubber kick - this time from Jake Carter - was not dealt with by the visitors and Deon Cross raced in to dot down, with Charnock converting for 18-4.
