Carlisle United have been handed an away tie against Cleator Moor Celtic or Unisun Athletic in the quarter-finals of the Cumberland Cup.

Holders Celtic are still to face Unisun as their second round tie was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch on Tuesday.

Either way it will be the first away clash for the young United side as they bid to win the county cup for the first time since 2015.

The Blues beat Workington 3-2 in the first round thanks to goals from Jack Egan, Max Brown and Sam Adewusi.

They then edged a second-round tie 1-0 against Pirelli thanks to a Keighran Kerr penalty, both home games being played at Penrith’s Frenchfield Park.

United have so far fielded a combination of young pros and youth team players, with keeper Louis Gray and first-team prospect Liam McCarron among those to feature, first-team coach Paul Murray taking charge of the side.

The draw was made on BBC Radio Cumbria on Friday night.

Draw: Keswick v Wigton Harriers; Bransty Rangers v Netherhall; Cleator Moor Celtic or Unisun Athletic v Carlisle United; Penrith v Whitehaven Amateurs.
