West Cumbrian marksman Glenn Murray has declared himself fully fit as Brighton prepare for three matches in seven days.

Murray, from Maryport, suffered an early knock in a challenge by England full-back Ben Chilwell before scoring his sixth goal in as many home matches, and seventh overall this season, in Saturday’s 1-1 draw with ten-man Leicester.

He carried on playing, with his upper right leg strapped in the second half at the Amex.

"It was my right hamstring attachment to my knee, nothing too major. I picked up a few knocks," the 35-year-old former Workington Reds and Carlisle United man said to The Argus.

"If I felt I couldn’t compete, then I would have brought myself off.

"I felt OK. Everything’s fine.

"I trained yesterday and I’ll train for the rest of the week."

Albion travel to Huddersfield on Saturday before entertaining Murray’s old club Crystal Palace next Tuesday.

Chris Hughton’s men then go to Burnley a week on Saturday.

The Seagulls are currently in 12th position in the Premier League table, having taken 15 points from 13 league fixtures, heading into their December fixtures.

Murray started his senior career with Workington Reds before he then played for Wilmington Hammerheads in North Carolina.

He also counts Cumbrian outfit Barrow, Stockport County, Rochdale and Bournemouth among his former clubs.
