US-based UK Elite Soccer will once again be returning to Carlisle this December, looking to recruit new coaches.

The interviews will be taking place at the Sheepmount Athletics Stadium on December 13 from midday to 4pm.

Last year, UK Elite ended up attracting a couple of coaches from their interviews at Harraby Community Centre, including Greg Short from Carlisle.

Steve Jones, national director of player and coach development at UK Elite, who grew-up in Carlisle and played football for Cumberland Schoolboys, Christus Rex, Gillford Park and Gretna, is hoping for more success from their interviews this time around.

“In terms of last year’s success, I would say it was encouraging that we were able to offer coaches from my home-town area an opportunity to gain experience coaching abroad while also developing their coaching skills with our orientation process and feedback they were given while here,” he said.

“Greg was one of the many coaches who had the opportunity to travel while here and coach in several regions.

"During the UK recruitment drive, we will be looking for coaches for various positions which range from a summer contract all the way through to a nine-month contract here in the USA and I am confident there is some great talent in Cumbria that we are hoping to meet in Carlisle on December 13 at the Sheepmount facility.”
