Flanker Mark Wilson is a surprise selection to start for England against South Africa.
Newcastle Falcons’ Cumbrian Wilson, who began his junior rugby career at Penrith, will start at number eight as he earns his fifth cap this Saturday.
Northampton Saints’ Dylan Hartley and Saracens fly-half Owen Farrell are named as co-captains for England’s first of four November internationals.
Elsewhere, coach Eddie Jones has picked Ben Te’o at inside centre, despite playing fewer than 30 minutes for Worcester this season, with blind-side Brad Shields also forming an inexperienced back row with Tom Curry.
Jones told England Rugby's website: “We’ve become very well-organised in our set-piece and have done a lot of good work in Portugal over the last week.
“We have put in a new defence system and our attack looks more organised than it was on the South Africa tour.”
