WE shared the news that Carlisle-born food critic and writer, Grace Dent is set to appear on the latest series of I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.

Grace will be joined on the iconic show by a host of well-known faces including politician, Nigel Farage, boxer Tony Bellew and First Dates star, Fred Sirieix.

Here's how readers reacted.

Emma Telford said: "She is a lovely lady who does so much unpublicised charity work; she's a credit to Carlisle and the Dent family."

Jane Little said: "Should be very interesting," and Marlon Cole said: "Excellent news! Really like Grace."

Joan Gibson also said: "I may watch. I think she is great."

Moyra Batey also said: "That will be interesting."

Stephen Stewart added: "I will definitely watch I think she will be brilliant," and Kaz Lorna Campbell commented: "Good luck to her I’m not sure I’ve the gumption to do what she’s about to do with all those beasties."

Tracy Lou Arnold also shared her support for Grace.

The show sees the celebrities compete in often gruesome trials to win food for camp and eventually be crowned king or queen of the jungle.

Last month Grace did a talk at Carlisle's Old Fire Station to celebrate the arrival of her new book, Comfort Eating.

Carlisle has always held a special place in the writer's heart and her recent review of Casa Romana in The Guardian documented her fondness for her home city.

The well-loved ITV show is set to hit our screens on Sunday, November 19 at 9pm.
