The first perfect 40 score on Strictly this series has been awarded to Fleur East and Vito Coppola.

The BBC dancing contest made an exciting return to the seaside after two years due to the Covid pandemic.

Fleur and Vito secured the first perfect 40 of the series for an energetic couple’s choice routine.

The couple performed their Blackpool dance to one of her favourite bands from her childhood's - Destiny’s Child Megamix by Destiny’s Child.

The pair were dressed in matching silver sequined outfits as they performed a nostalgic routine to a megamix by the pop group.

The X-factor star and Radio DJ described the dance as a full-circle moment as she said she grew up listening to Destiny’s Child.

Fleur went on to say that the group inspired her to become a singer.

Finally finding his 10 panel, Craig Revel Horwood simply described it as “fab-u-lous”.

Shirley Ballas also said it was “an iconic routine that will go down in history”.

The head judge also praised her confidence to do a dramatic lean during the routine.
