Guidance has been issued to employers, employees and those who are self employed in food retail and the takeaway industry.

In light of the Covid-19 pandemic, restarting takeaway and businesses are being asked to review their usual policies including how they start the day and food safety.

The Food Standards Agency is asking businesses to review their policy on reusable containers but it is ultimately the trader’s decision. Businesses are advised not to touch cups and containers used by customers.

With pubs and restaurants set to reopen from July 4, the Government has said: “The opening up of the economy following the Covid outbreak is being supported by NHS Test and Trace. You should assist this service by keeping a record of your customers and visitors for 21 days.”
