Guidance has been issued on what to do if you have been in contact with a person who has coronavirus.
The NHS Test and Trace service will send an alert by text, email or with a phone call if you have been in contact with someone who has coronavirus.
Those who receive the notification are asked to stay at home for 14 days as this is the time it takes for the virus to appear.
People who have been in contact with someone who has Covid-19 is asked to limit contact even with people they live with, staying at home for the entirety of the isolation period.
The family or housemates of those who receive the notification do not need to isolate unless anyone in the household develops symptoms.
A test can be booked at www.nhs.uk/coronavirus or by calling 119.
Even if the test is negative, those who have been in contact with someone who has coronvirus is advised to still self isolate as the virus may not be detectable yet.
